List of Drug and Alcohol Detoxification Centers In Huntington Park, California

What Is Detox in Huntington Park, California?

Detox, also known as detoxification, is usually the initial treatment you will undergo when you enroll in an inpatient or an outpatient addiction treatment facility. However, it is also offered in hospitals and additional settings - especially if the withdrawal symptoms displayed are too extreme for you to bear.

In a lot of cases, the purpose of medically managed detoxification is to avoid any fatal or unpleasant consequences that come up when you suddenly stop abusing your preferred drug of choice or if you reduce the dosage you are accustomed to.

As such, detox programs in Huntington Park offer physiological healing - typically after being addicted to alcohol and/or drugs for an extended period of time. It typically begins with a rehabilitation process before the full process of detoxification can start.

NIDA (the National Institute on Drug Abuse) reports that after the center has stabilized you, detoxification will shift focus to intensive support and monitoring to ensure that all your bodily functions are at desirable levels as your system continues getting rid of the substances you consumed. The detox center will also try to manage the typically unpleasant and uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms that might arise the process.

Understanding Detoxification Treatment

However, keep in mind that you should not think of detox as the complete rehabilitation for substance abuse and drug and alcohol addiction - regardless of the severity of your addiction.

In fact, drug addiction is both physical and psychological. As such, you should go for psychotherapeutic treatment after the detoxification process to address every problem arising from drug cravings and from the effects these substances made to your brain.

Although detox in Huntington Park, CA. can ideally help you stop drinking alcohol and using drugs immediately, you will still need follow-up therapy and care. This will significantly lower your risk of relapse.

Overall, the importance of detox cannot be overemphasized. This is why almost every addiction rehabilitation center typically begins with detoxification before following it up with other therapeutic treatment services.
