It is mostly focused on those who live in Butte, Solano, San Francisco, Santa Clara, and San Mateo counties. - The mission of the center is to support and empower individuals - and their families - so that they can attain lifestyles of independence. To this end, it takes care of people of all sexual orientations, abilities, gender identities, faiths, countries of origin, ethnicities, and races. - Since 1964, the center has been offering thriving services and programs in the local community. As a not for profit organization, it offers a portfolio of support and behavioral health care services designed to support and empower clients in their day to day lives. - Further, Hawthorne House has been expanding its capacity to deal with the increasingly complex needs that clients struggle with. This has seen it adding three divisions to the organization in recent years.
