Transitional Services for New York Inc. is a multifaceted mental health organization. It works in conjunction with the State of New York as well as the government of New York City to provide a wide variety of services that are designed to help people who are recovering from poor mental health. It has been in existence since 1975, during which time it has served more than 4000 clients on an annual basis. - Transitional Services for New York Inc. was created to offer an alternative to hospital placement in the long term. Today, it is a multi-faceted mental health organization that offers a wide variety of outpatient services and residential programs. - Through these services, the facility encourages participation in the life of the community while also increasing personal motivation. It also encourages the vocational, work, and professional skills of its clients so that they can be competitive in the labor market of their choosing. It does this by offering ongoing medication, supportive mental and behavioral therapy, and many other services.
