List of Short Term Alcohol and Drug Rehab Programs In Whittemore, Iowa

Understanding Short Term Drug Rehabilitation in Whittemore, Iowa

Short term drug rehab is among the successful forms of addiction rehab. In particular, it can be helpful for clients in Whittemore who are unable to attend a long-term treatment program.

However, there are a few things you should consider when deciding on the rehabilitation center you are going to attend. The three primary factors are effectiveness/success rates, cost, and time.

Whereas no universal recovery plan will work for all addicts, you will have some treatment options to choose from subject to your specific needs and preferences. Among these options is short term drug and alcohol rehab.

In most cases, short term rehabilitation will require that you reside within the recovery center for a couple of weeks or so. These types of programs are somewhat comparable to long-term treatment programs but they are much shorter in duration yet at the same time ensuring that you receive the attention, support, and monitoring that will guarantee you stay sober.

In particular, short term rehabilitation will range in duration from 2 - 6 weeks. During this time, you can participate in individual and group counseling even as you continue learning effective life skills that will empower you to deal with any tempting situation you may run into as opposed to getting high or drunk.

Usually, short term drug rehab in Whittemore, IA. will start with medical detox. The length of this program will mainly depend on the severity of your substance abuse as well as for how long you have been abusing drugs or alcohol.

After you finish the detox step, the short term treatment facility will use other methods of treatment tailored to your individual needs. For instance, the program may use 12-step meetings and group counseling to allow you to receive benefits from peer support. These treatment components may help hold you accountable as you work through your addiction.

Other treatment approaches that may be available through short term treatment include:

  • Art therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Group counseling
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Individual counseling
  • Nature therapy
  • Medication
  • Yoga
  • Treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety and depression

All these treatment methods can be provided in short term drug rehab to help modify your behavior, deter you from continued substance abuse, and teach you how to make healthier decisions so that you don't fall back into substance abuse. You could also discover helpful coping strategies and help you to reduce anxiety, so you don't feel you need to use drugs.
