List of Outpatient Addiction Treatment Centers In Whittemore, Iowa

How Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Works in Whittemore, Iowa

If you have been struggling with an extreme substance use disorder and addiction, outpatient drug treatment might not prove useful for you. Before you look for treatment for your addiction, you must first complete detox to rid your body completely of the substances you were abusing.

After the detox stage, the outpatient drug and alcohol rehab program will start the official work of therapy and recovery. In fact, these programs work best if you have already completed another form of care - such as a participating in an inpatient drug and alcohol treatment program. You should also be deemed medically stable enough that you can easily pursue treatment and recovery with minimal assistance.

When you enroll in an outpatient substance abuse treatment center in Whittemore, the following services will be provided every week:

  • Counseling with Family
  • Group counseling and support meetings
  • Individual therapy and counseling
  • Medication management, which might be required if you have a co-occurring disorder or have been diagnosed with polysubstance addiction
  • Nutrition and diet management
  • One to one counseling and therapy with trained addiction treatment and/or mental health expert
  • Exercise related therapy
  • Relapse prevention
  • Transitional living

Since outpatient rehabilitation does not require that you reside inside the facility, it means that you might need to dedicate yourself to sobriety so that the program proves worthwhile in the long run. You should also pursue sobriety and abstain from drugs without any monitoring or assistance.

As long as your surroundings are conducive to your recovery, you may find that outpatient drug rehab is the best option. This is because you will receive support and care at home so that you can continue focusing on beating your addiction - with none of the temptations you might have run into in the past.
