UF Health Shands is devoted to assisting the people of Alachua and the surrounding areas to getting their sobriety back after battling with alcohol and drug addiction. Because of this, UF Health Shands provides a wide assortment of services in line with their philosophy of treatments that work - including long term drug rehab centers, inpatient rehab centers, outpatient substance abuse counseling, inpatient detox facilities, short term addiction treatment centers and others.
UF Health Shands also feels that it is important that every individual client gets specific treatments that are tailored to their needs to help ensure treatment is a success. This is why it is specialized in a wide variety of treatment modalities, including couple/family therapy, vocational rehabilitation services, contingency management/motivational incentive, dual diagnosis drug rehab, rational emotive behavioral therapy, anger management and others. In addition, UF Health Shands is specialized in aftercare/continuing care, active duty military, programs for the hearing impaired, clients with HIV/AIDS, child care for clients children, domestic violence, as well as other special programs. In general, the treatment methods that this drug and alcohol treatment program uses strive to achieve true and lasting sobriety for each of its clients.
Lastly, UF Health Shands accepts cash or self-payment, private medical insurance, military insurance, payment assistance, access to recovery (atr) voucher, state corrections or juvenile justice funds and more.
