List of Long Term Drug and Alcohol Rehab Facilities In Newark, Arkansas

Do I Need Long Term Drug Rehab in Newark, Arkansas?

What is an addictive or psychoactive drug? An addictive or psychoactive drug is a drug such as heroin, cocaine, crystal meth, oxycontin, ritalin, amytal etc... that acts primarily upon the central nervous system where it alters brain activity, which causes temporary changes in awareness, mood, alertness and behavior. Addictive substances also alter the personalities of the people that use them and these changes in personality and behavior are usually extremely detrimental and undesirable. When a person starts to use a psychoactive substance they typically feel an artificial feeling of pleasure brought on by the substance. When used daily for a prolonged period of time the individual will develop an addiction to the substance. Addiction can be a tremendous affliction in a persons life. No one purposefully tries to create this suffering, known as addiction, for themselves, instead the person was simply ignorant of the negative consequences and they could only see the pleasure it seemed to produce in the beginning and they thought it would stay like that.

Luckily there are solutions for those in Newark, Arkansas struggling with alcoholism or drug addiction. A long term addiction requires a comprehensive inpatient treatment plan. Addiction is a problem that can be handled but it's not resolved overnight. The most effective approach to treat alcohol and drug addiction today is long term residential rehab. Just as no one plans to develop an addiction to substances, no one has to continue to be addicted if they get the professional help that they need to correct the issue.

  • The person will obtain 24 hr care including medically monitored services through the withdrawal process.
  • They will be provided the counseling and support that they need to repair their life.
  • The individual will learn how to repair the destruction that they have done to themselves and their loved ones.
  • They will learn recovery skills and tools that are essential to recovery.
  • They will regain self esteem and confidence and regain self worth again.
  • Physiological and psychological counseling provides enduring benefits for a lasting rehabilitation.

North Little Rock, AR. 72114

Recovery Centers of Arkansas has a rich history with strong foundations in the recovery community of central Arkansas. The first Alcoholics Anonymous group in Arkansas and the oldest AA group west of the Mississippi River initially incorporated in the 1950's, as the Twenty-Four Hour Club and later as Addiction Treatment Centers, for the purpose of purchasing a facility in Little Rock to offer treatment for alcohol abuse. A need was shortly thereafter identified to have a similar facility on the north side of the river. Twelve people, incorporating as Riverbend Recovery Centers, donated $100 each for a down payment on a building and property located at the current site in North Little Rock. Operating under separate articles of incorporation, the two facilities each expanded, offering treatment to both men and women and to include substance abuse treatment in general rather than just alcohol addiction.
