Understanding Short Term Drug Rehab in Mount Pleasant, Arkansas

Short term drug and alcohol rehab is among the effective types of addiction rehabilitation. That is, it might be beneficial for people in Mount Pleasant who cannot participate in a long-term rehab program.

Although, there are several things you should look into when choosing the treatment center you are thinking about attending. The three primary concerns include effectiveness/success rates, cost, and program duration.

Since no universal recovery method will work for everyone, you will have several options to choose from subject to your particular requirements and desires. Among these options is short term drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

In most instances, short term rehabilitation will require that you reside within the recovery facility for a couple of weeks or so. These facilities are similar to long-term addiction treatment except they last quite a bit shorter in duration yet at the same time ensuring that you obtain the attention, support, and supervision that will guarantee you do not relapse.

In particular, short term rehabilitation will range in duration from 14 days to about 6 weeks. During this time, you can participate in individual and group therapy and counseling while you also start discovering effective life skills and recovery tools that will allow you to effectively handle any problematic situation you encounter instead of getting high or drunk.

In most cases, short term drug rehab in Mount Pleasant, AR. will begin with medical detox. The program length will largely depend on the dose and frequency of your drug or alcohol use as well as the length of time you have been using.

After you are done with detox, the rehab program will perform other methods of treatment tailored to your individual needs. For instance, treatment may use 12-step meetings and group counseling to allow you to take advantage of peer support. These treatments will hold you accountable as you work through your addiction.

Other treatment approaches that might be available in short term rehabilitation include:

  • Art therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Group counseling
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Individual counseling
  • Nature therapy
  • Medication
  • Yoga
  • Treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety and depression

All these treatment methods may be provided in short term drug rehab to help modify your behavior, deter you from continued substance abuse, and teach you ways to make positive choices so that you do not fall back into substance abuse. You may also discover new coping strategies and improve your relaxation, so you do not feel you have to use drugs.

Recovery Centers of Arkansas has a rich history with strong foundations in the recovery community of central Arkansas. The first Alcoholics Anonymous group in Arkansas and the oldest AA group west of the Mississippi River initially incorporated in the 1950's, as the Twenty-Four Hour Club and later as Addiction Treatment Centers, for the purpose of purchasing a facility in Little Rock to offer treatment for alcohol abuse. A need was shortly thereafter identified to have a similar facility on the north side of the river. Twelve people, incorporating as Riverbend Recovery Centers, donated $100 each for a down payment on a building and property located at the current site in North Little Rock. Operating under separate articles of incorporation, the two facilities each expanded, offering treatment to both men and women and to include substance abuse treatment in general rather than just alcohol addiction.
