List of Long Term Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs In Mellwood, Arkansas

Long Term Drug and Alcohol Rehab and Psychological Care in Mellwood, Arkansas

Upon completion of a long-term drug drug and alcohol addiction program in Mellwood, you might still be required to continue with your rehabilitation. However, some individuals might start wondering why they need to spend so long in such a facility.

In particular, they may imagine that it would be more effective to finish short-term rehab before enrolling in an intensive outpatient program. Still, even though some addicts have found success through this type of treatment, there are people who would gain more by spending several months in an inpatient program. These include addicted individuals with weak recovery skills as well as those who might require additional help and support to overcome their drug addiction.

These addicts include those who:

  • Are utterly unable to function in their lives without abusing their drugs and alcohol of choice
  • Come from unsafe areas and homes that could tempt them to start using again
  • Have co-occurring mental health conditions
  • Begin using harmful and mind-altering substances from a young age
  • Completed addiction rehabilitation but relapse to their previous using habits

In many cases, long term alcohol and drug treatment may also be accompanied by extended care and mental health treatment. This is because the mental illnesses tend to co-occur with addiction - by leading people to abuse drugs or arising from alcohol and drug abuse - often require long term management and rehabilitation.

Through a Mellwood, AR. long-term program, therefore, you will receive all the care and support you need to conquer both your substance abuse and any co-occurring mental health condition that you are suffering from.

If you choose short-term rehabilitation, you may find that you increasingly isolate yourself, neglect your health and wellness, and stop taking the medications that physicians recommended to you. This is why long-term drug and alcohol treatment makes sense for people with co-occurring disorders and who need more intensive care.

Recovery Centers of Arkansas

North Little Rock, AR. 72114

Recovery Centers of Arkansas has a rich history with strong foundations in the recovery community of central Arkansas. The first Alcoholics Anonymous group in Arkansas and the oldest AA group west of the Mississippi River initially incorporated in the 1950's, as the Twenty-Four Hour Club and later as Addiction Treatment Centers, for the purpose of purchasing a facility in Little Rock to offer treatment for alcohol abuse. A need was shortly thereafter identified to have a similar facility on the north side of the river. Twelve people, incorporating as Riverbend Recovery Centers, donated $100 each for a down payment on a building and property located at the current site in North Little Rock. Operating under separate articles of incorporation, the two facilities each expanded, offering treatment to both men and women and to include substance abuse treatment in general rather than just alcohol addiction.
