List of Short Term Alcohol and Drug Treatment Facilities In College Station, Arkansas

Understanding Short Term Drug Treatment in College Station, Arkansas

Short term drug and alcohol rehabilitation is among the successful forms of substance abuse rehab. In particular, it might prove beneficial for clients in College Station who are unable to attend a long-term rehab program.

Yet, there are many things you should consider when deciding on the rehabilitation facility you are going to attend. The three main factors encompass cost, success rates/effectiveness, and program duration.

Considering that no universal recovery plan will work for everyone, you will have several treatment options to decide on subject to your specific needs and preferences. One of these options is short term drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

In many cases, short term rehab will have you reside within the recovery facility for a couple of weeks or so. These facilities are somewhat comparable to long-term addiction treatment but they are much shorter yet at the same time making sure that you receive the support, attention, and supervision to ensure you stay sober.

In particular, short term rehab will vary in length from 2 - 6 weeks. During this time, you will benefit from individual and group counseling even as you start learning effective life skills that will allow you to confront any difficult situation you may experience rather than resorting to substance abuse.

Usually, short term drug rehab in College Station, AR. will begin with medical detox. The program length will mainly depend on the severity of your addiction as well as the length of time you have been using.

After you finish the detox step, the rehab facility will utilize other forms of treatment depending on your specific needs. For example, treatment might use the 12 step method to allow you to take advantage of peer support. These treatments will hold you accountable as you try to overcome your addiction.

Other forms of treatment that might be offered through short term rehabilitation include:

  • Art therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Group counseling
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Individual counseling
  • Nature therapy
  • Medication
  • Yoga
  • Treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety and depression

These treatment methods can be offered in short term drug rehab to help modify your behavior, deter you from drug or alcohol use, and show you ways to make positive choices so that you do not fall back into substance abuse. You could also learn helpful coping methods and improve your relaxation, so you do not feel you have to use drugs.

Recovery Centers of Arkansas has a rich history with strong foundations in the recovery community of central Arkansas. The first Alcoholics Anonymous group in Arkansas and the oldest AA group west of the Mississippi River initially incorporated in the 1950's, as the Twenty-Four Hour Club and later as Addiction Treatment Centers, for the purpose of purchasing a facility in Little Rock to offer treatment for alcohol abuse. A need was shortly thereafter identified to have a similar facility on the north side of the river. Twelve people, incorporating as Riverbend Recovery Centers, donated $100 each for a down payment on a building and property located at the current site in North Little Rock. Operating under separate articles of incorporation, the two facilities each expanded, offering treatment to both men and women and to include substance abuse treatment in general rather than just alcohol addiction.
