Do I Need Long Term Drug and Alcohol Treatment in Sugar Grove, Virginia?

What is an addictive or psychoactive drug? An addictive or psychoactive drug is a drug such as heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, vicodin, rohypnol, morphine etc... that works primarily upon the central nervous system where it alters brain activity, resulting in temporary changes in awareness, feeling, consciousness and behavior. Psychoactive drugs also alter the personalities of the individuals that use them and these changes in personality and behavior are usually extremely negative and troublesome. When a person begins using an addictive drug they typically feel an artificial feeling of pleasure brought on by the drug. When used regularly for a prolonged period of time the individual will become addicted to the drug. Addiction will usually be a tremendous nightmare in a persons life. Nobody intends to create this suffering, known as addiction, for themselves, rather the individual was simply ignorant of the negative consequences and they could only notice the pleasure it appeared to produce at first and they thought it would always be like that.
