List of Short Term Substance Abuse Treatment Centers In Rural Retreat, Virginia

Understanding Short Term Drug Rehab in Rural Retreat, Virginia

Short term drug and alcohol rehab is among the successful forms of substance abuse treatment. In particular, it may prove helpful for individuals in Rural Retreat who are unable to participate in a long-term rehabilitation program.

Yet, there are a few things you need to consider while choosing the rehabilitation center you are thinking about attending. The three major concerns are cost, success rates/effectiveness, and time.

Considering that no universal treatment method will work for all addicts, you will have a few treatment options to decide on subject to your specific needs and desires. One of these options is short term drug and alcohol treatment.

In many instances, short term rehab will require that you live within the rehab facility for a few weeks. These types of programs are similar to long-term addiction treatment except they are much shorter yet at the same time making sure that you get the support, attention, and monitoring to ensure you stay sober.

Specifically, short term treatment will vary in length from 14 days to about 6 weeks. During this time, you can benefit from individual and group counseling even as you continue discovering effective life skills that will help you to confront any tempting situation you encounter instead of getting high or drunk.

Usually, short term rehab in Rural Retreat, VA. will begin with detoxification. The program duration will mainly depend on the dose and frequency of your drug or alcohol use as well as for how long you have been abusing drugs or alcohol.

After you finish detoxification, the treatment facility will use other forms of treatment depending on your particular needs and requirements. For instance, treatment may use the 12 step method to allow you to receive benefits from peer support. These treatments may help hold you accountable as you try to overcome your addiction.

Other forms of treatment that may be offered in short term rehabilitation include:

  • Art therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Group counseling
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Individual counseling
  • Nature therapy
  • Medication
  • Yoga
  • Treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety and depression

All these treatment methods may be performed to help modify your behavior, prevent you from drug use, and teach you how to make healthier choices so that you don't fall back into substance abuse. You might also learn new coping methods and help you to reduce anxiety, so you do not feel you have to resort to drugs.
