List of Short Term Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Programs In North Tazewell, Virginia

Understanding Short Term Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation in North Tazewell, Virginia

Short term drug treatment is one of the more successful types of substance abuse rehabilitation. That is, it may be appropriate for clients in North Tazewell who cannot go to a long-term rehabilitation program.

However, there are numerous things you should look into while choosing the rehab facility you are thinking about attending. The three main concerns include effectiveness/success rates, cost, and program duration.

Whereas no universal treatment method will work for everyone, you will have several options to decide on depending on your specific needs and preferences. Among these options is short term drug rehabilitation.

In many cases, short term rehab will have you reside within the recovery program for a few weeks. These types of programs are somewhat comparable to long-term rehab programs but they are much shorter in duration while ensuring that you get the attention, support, and monitoring to ensure you stay sober.

In particular, short term rehabilitation will vary in duration from 2 - 6 weeks. During this time, you will benefit from individual and group counseling and therapy even as you continue learning more positive life skills that will empower you to deal with any tempting situation you encounter rather than resorting to substance abuse.

In most cases, short term drug rehab in North Tazewell, VA. will begin with medical detox. The program duration will mainly depend on the severity of your substance abuse as well as the length of time you have been using.

After you finish detoxification, the rehabilitation center will utilize other methods of treatment depending on your specific needs. For instance, treatment may use the 12 step method to allow you to take advantage of peer support. These treatments will hold you accountable as you try to overcome your addiction.

Other treatment methods that may be available in short term treatment include:

  • Acupuncture
  • Art therapy
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Group counseling
  • Individual counseling
  • Medication
  • Nature therapy
  • Treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety and depression
  • Yoga

All these recovery techniques can be performed to help modify your behavior, deter you from continued substance abuse, and show you how to make healthier decisions so that you don't relapse. You could also discover helpful coping skills and improve your relaxation, so you do not feel you need to use drugs.
