Long Term Drug Rehabilitation and Psychological Care in Max Meadows, Virginia

Even after completing a long-term alcohol and drug drug addiction program in Max Meadows, you might still be required to continue with your treatment. However, some people may start wondering why they would be required to spend so long in such a center.

In particular, they may assume that it would be more useful to finish short-term rehabilitation before enrolling in an intensive outpatient center. Still, even though some addicts have found sobriety through this form of treatment, there are people who would benefit more by spending several months in an inpatient program. These include addicted individuals with weak recovery skills as well as those who may need extra help and support to conquer their addiction.

These addicts include those who:

  • Are utterly unable to structure their lives without abusing their alcohol and drugs of choice
  • Come from unsafe areas and homes that could tempt them to start using again
  • Have co-occurring psychological conditions
  • Begin using intoxicating and mind-altering substances from an early age
  • Finished addiction rehabilitation but relapse to their old using habits

In many instances, long term drug rehab may also be accompanied by extended care and psychological rehabilitation. This is because the mental illnesses often co-occur with addiction - by leading individuals to abuse alcohol and drugs or arising from alcohol and drug abuse - often require long term management and rehabilitation.

Through a Max Meadows, VA. long-term facility, therefore, you will get all the care and help you need to conquer both your drug and alcohol abuse and any co-occurring mental health disorder that you are struggling with.

If you opt for short-term treatment, you may discover that you particularly isolate yourself, neglect your physical health and wellness, and stop taking the medications that physicians recommended to you. This is why long-term drug and alcohol rehabilitation makes sense for individuals with co-occurring disorders and who need more intensive care.
