Understanding Short Term Drug and Alcohol Treatment in Webster City, Iowa

Short term drug and alcohol treatment is one of the more effective forms of addiction rehabilitation. In particular, it may prove appropriate for clients in Webster City who are unable to attend a long-term rehab program.

Although, there are numerous things you need to consider while choosing the rehabilitation program you are going to attend. The three main concerns encompass effectiveness/success rates, cost, and program duration.

Whereas no universal recovery method will work for all addicts, you will have several options to decide on subject to your particular requirements and desires. Among these options is short term drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

In many instances, short term rehab will require that you live within the rehab facility for a few weeks. These facilities are similar to long-term rehab programs except they last quite a bit shorter while ensuring that you obtain the attention, support, and monitoring to make sure you stay sober.

Specifically, short term rehab will vary in length from 2 - 6 weeks. During this time, you may receive individual and group counseling and therapy while you also start discovering effective life skills and recovery tools that will allow you to confront any difficult situation you may run into as opposed to resorting to substance abuse.

In most cases, short term drug rehab in Webster City, IA. will begin with medical detox. The program duration will primarily depend on the dose and frequency of your drug or alcohol use as well as the length of time you have been abusing drugs or alcohol.

After you are done with detoxification, the treatment center will utilize other methods of treatment depending on your individual requirements and preferences. For example, treatment might use 12-step meetings and group counseling to allow you to receive benefits from peer support. These treatments will hold you accountable as you try to overcome your addiction.

Other treatment approaches that might be available in short term rehabilitation include:

  • Art therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Group counseling
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Individual counseling
  • Nature therapy
  • Medication
  • Yoga
  • Treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety and depression

All these recovery techniques may be used in short term drug rehab to help modify your behavior, prevent you from substance abuse, and teach you ways to make positive choices so that you don't fall back into substance abuse. You might also learn helpful coping strategies and improve your relaxation, so you do not feel you need to resort to drugs.
