List of Short Term Alcohol and Drug Treatment Programs In Thor, Iowa

Understanding Short Term Drug Rehab in Thor, Iowa

Short term drug and alcohol rehabilitation is one of the more successful types of addiction rehab. In particular, it might be appropriate for individuals in Thor who cannot attend a long-term rehabilitation program.

However, there are a few things you need to consider while choosing the treatment facility you are thinking about attending. The three primary concerns are cost, success rates/effectiveness, and program duration.

Considering that no universal treatment method will work for everyone, you will have a few treatment options to pick from dependent on your particular needs and desires. Among these options is short term drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

In most cases, short term rehab will require that you reside within the recovery center for a few weeks. These facilities are similar to long-term addiction treatment except they are much shorter while ensuring that you obtain the support, attention, and supervision to make sure you stay sober.

Specifically, short term treatment will range in duration from 2 - 6 weeks. During this time, you can benefit from individual and group counseling and therapy even as you start discovering more positive life skills and recovery tools that will allow you to deal with any difficult situation you encounter as opposed to reaching for drugs or alcohol.

In most cases, short term addiction treatment in Thor, IA. will begin with medical detox. The duration of the program will primarily depend on the severity of your addiction as well as the length of time you have been using.

After you finish detox, the treatment facility will use other types of treatment tailored to your specific needs. For instance, the program might use the 12 step method to allow you to take advantage of peer support. These treatment components will hold you accountable as you try to overcome your addiction.

Other treatment methods that may be offered through short term rehabilitation include:

  • Acupuncture
  • Art therapy
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Group counseling
  • Individual counseling
  • Medication
  • Nature therapy
  • Treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety and depression
  • Yoga

All these recovery techniques can be performed to help modify your behavior, discourage you from continued drug or alcohol use, and teach you ways to make positive decisions so that you don't relapse. You could also discover helpful coping strategies and improve your relaxation, so you don't feel you have to abuse drugs or alcohol.
