List of Short Term Alcohol and Drug Rehab Facilities In Shell Rock, Iowa

Understanding Short Term Drug Rehab in Shell Rock, Iowa

Short term drug rehab is one of the more effective types of substance abuse rehabilitation. In particular, it can prove beneficial for people in Shell Rock who are unable to go to a long-term treatment program.

Yet, there are a few things you need to look into when choosing the rehab program you are thinking about attending. The three primary factors encompass effectiveness/success rates, cost, and time.

Since no universal recovery plan will work for all addicts, you will have some options to choose from depending on your particular needs and desires. One of these options is short term drug and alcohol treatment.

In most instances, short term rehabilitation will require that you reside within the rehab program for a couple of weeks or so. These programs are somewhat comparable to long-term rehab programs except they last much shorter in duration yet at the same time making sure that you get the attention, support, and supervision to make sure you stay sober.

Specifically, short term rehabilitation will vary in length from 14 days to about 6 weeks. During this time, you will receive individual and group counseling and therapy while you also continue learning effective life skills and recovery tools that will empower you to deal with any tempting situation you may experience rather than reaching for drugs or alcohol.

Typically, short term addiction treatment in Shell Rock, IA. will begin with medically managed detox. The duration of the program will largely depend on the dose and frequency of your drug or alcohol use as well as the length of time you have been using.

After you are done with detox, the rehab facility will perform other types of treatment depending on your particular requirements and preferences. For example, the program may use 12-step meetings and group counseling to allow you to take advantage of peer support. These treatment components may help hold you accountable as you try to overcome your addiction.

Other treatment methods that might be available through short term treatment include:

  • Acupuncture
  • Art therapy
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Group counseling
  • Individual counseling
  • Medication
  • Nature therapy
  • Treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety and depression
  • Yoga

These recovery techniques may be performed to help shape your way of thinking, discourage you from continued substance abuse, and show you ways to make positive decisions so that you don't relapse. You might also discover new coping strategies and improve your relaxation, so you don't feel you have to abuse drugs or alcohol.
