Understanding Short Term Drug and Alcohol Treatment in Odebolt, Iowa

Short term drug and alcohol rehab is among the effective forms of substance abuse rehabilitation. That is, it may prove useful for individuals in Odebolt who are unable to participate in a long-term rehab program.

Although, there are many things you should look into when selecting the treatment facility you are thinking about attending. The three main factors encompass effectiveness/success rates, cost, and program duration.

Because no universal recovery method will work for all addicts, you will have some treatment options to choose from dependent on your specific requirements and desires. One of these options is short term drug and alcohol rehab.

In many cases, short term rehabilitation will have you live within the recovery facility for a couple of weeks or so. These facilities are similar to long-term addiction treatment except they are much shorter in duration while ensuring that you receive the support, attention, and monitoring to ensure you stay sober.

In particular, short term treatment will range in length from 2 - 6 weeks. During this time, you can receive individual and group therapy and counseling even as you continue learning more positive life skills and recovery tools that will allow you to effectively handle any difficult situation you may run into rather than reaching for drugs or alcohol.

Typically, short term rehab in Odebolt, IA. will begin with medical detox. The program length will primarily depend on the dose and frequency of your substance abuse as well as the length of time you have been using.

After you complete detoxification, the rehab facility will utilize other forms of treatment tailored to your individual requirements and preferences. For instance, treatment might use the 12 step method to allow you to take advantage of peer support. These treatment components will hold you accountable as you try to overcome your recovery.

Other treatment approaches that may be available in short term treatment include:

  • Acupuncture
  • Art therapy
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Group counseling
  • Individual counseling
  • Medication
  • Nature therapy
  • Treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety and depression
  • Yoga

These treatment methods can be used to help shape your way of thinking, discourage you from continued drug use, and show you ways to make positive decisions so that you do not fall back into substance abuse. You could also learn helpful coping strategies and help you to reduce anxiety, so you don't feel you have to resort to drugs.
