Understanding Short Term Drug Rehab in Meriden, Iowa

Short term drug rehab is one of the more effective types of addiction rehabilitation. In particular, it can prove helpful for people in Meriden who cannot participate in a long-term treatment program.

However, there are many things you need to look into while deciding on the rehabilitation facility you are going to attend. The three major factors encompass effectiveness/success rates, cost, and program duration.

Since no universal treatment plan will work for everyone, you will have some treatment options to pick from depending on your specific needs and desires. Among these options is short term drug and alcohol treatment.

In most instances, short term rehabilitation will require that you live within the rehab facility for a couple of weeks or so. These types of programs are similar to long-term rehab programs except they are much shorter while making sure that you obtain the support, attention, and supervision to make sure you stay sober.

In particular, short term rehab will range in duration from 14 days to about 6 weeks. During this time, you will benefit from individual and group counseling and therapy while you also start learning effective life skills that will empower you to deal with any difficult situation you encounter rather than resorting to substance abuse.

Typically, short term drug rehab in Meriden, IA. will begin with medical detox. The duration of the program will largely depend on the severity of your drug or alcohol use as well as the length of time you have been using.

After you complete the detox step, the rehab facility will use other types of treatment tailored to your specific needs and requirements. For example, treatment may use the 12 step method to allow you to receive benefits from peer support. These treatments may help hold you accountable as you try to overcome your recovery.

Other treatment methods that may be offered through short term rehabilitation include:

  • Art therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Group counseling
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Individual counseling
  • Nature therapy
  • Medication
  • Yoga
  • Treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety and depression

All these recovery techniques may be provided to help shape your way of thinking, deter you from continued drug use, and teach you how to make healthier decisions so that you don't fall back into substance abuse. You might also discover helpful coping strategies and improve your relaxation, so you do not feel you have to abuse drugs or alcohol.
