Continued Care Following Short Term Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation in Livermore, Iowa

One of the benefits you stand to gain when you go through short term rehab is that you can thereafter ease into long-term rehab. That said, continued care is ideal for individuals in Livermore who have either relapsed or are at risk of relapse because they can immerse themselves in an additional substance-free environment and continue safely battling their addiction.

After you complete a treatment program, it is highly possible that you will encounter the same surroundings where you previously used drugs or alcohol prior to going to rehab. This is due to the fact that the same triggers - people, situations, and environment - that can prompt you to relapse are still there.

Considering it can be very challenging to shift back into the "real world" after leaving long-term rehabilitation where you were able to remain engaged in treatment and support for several months, you may realize that continuing on with short term drug rehab in Livermore, IA. could likely help you sustain your newly found abstinence, resolve, and attitude against substance abuse.

While in short term rehab, therefore, you will work on how to have a more productive life in spite of any challenging situations you may run into. The program will also help you to learn to effectively manage your thoughts and behaviors - which could be extremely beneficial in ensuring that you can handle any troubles you are confronted with.

Additional components of substance abuse treatment and continued care include:

  • How to recognize triggers and avoid them
  • How to surround yourself with support through community groups, outpatient treatment, and stays at sober living facilities
  • How to create a more favorable environment at home and work

Last but not least, short term drug rehabilitation will typically have a vast variety of rehab methods that will help you use new abilities in your life and keep on sticking to the new principles you learned after you check out of the rehabilitation facility.
