Long Term Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation and Mental Health Care in Lidderdale, Iowa

Upon completion of a long-term drug and alcohol drug and alcohol addiction program in Lidderdale, you may still be required to continue with your treatment. However, some individuals may start wondering why they need to spend such an extensive period of time in such a facility.

In particular, they may imagine that it would be more useful to finish short-term rehabilitation before enrolling in an intensive outpatient center. Still, even though some addicts have found success through this form of rehab, there are people who would benefit more by spending a number of months in an inpatient program. These include addicts with weak recovery skills as well as those who might need additional help and support to overcome their addiction.

These addicted individuals include those who:

  • Are entirely unable to structure their lives without abusing their drugs of choice
  • Come from unsafe areas and homes that could tempt them to begin using again
  • Have co-occurring mental health disorders
  • Begin using harmful and mind-altering substances from an early age
  • Completed drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation but relapse to their old using patterns

In many instances, long term drug rehab might also be accompanied by extended care and psychological rehabilitation. This is because the mental illnesses often co-occur with drug addiction - by leading individuals to abuse alcohol and drugs or arising from drug and alcohol abuse - often need long term management and rehabilitation.

Through a Lidderdale, IA. long-term center, therefore, you will receive all the care and help you need to overcome both your alcohol and drug abuse and any co-occurring psychological disorder that you are struggling with.

If you choose short-term treatment, you might find that you increasingly isolate yourself, neglect your physical health and wellness, and stop taking the medications that physicians recommended to you. This is why long-term drug and alcohol rehabilitation makes sense for individuals with co-occurring disorders and who need more intensive care.
