List of Short Term Alcohol and Drug Treatment Programs In Galt, Iowa

Understanding Short Term Drug and Alcohol Rehab in Galt, Iowa

Short term drug rehabilitation is among the effective forms of substance abuse rehabilitation. In particular, it might be helpful for individuals in Galt who are unable to go to a long-term rehabilitation program.

Yet, there are several things you should consider when choosing the rehab facility you are thinking about attending. The three major concerns are effectiveness/success rates, cost, and program duration.

Since no universal treatment method will work for everyone, you will have a few treatment options to decide on subject to your specific needs and desires. One of these options is short term drug and alcohol treatment.

In most cases, short term rehabilitation will have you reside within the rehab program for a few weeks. These programs are somewhat comparable to long-term treatment programs except they last much shorter yet at the same time making sure that you obtain the support, attention, and supervision to make sure you do not relapse.

Specifically, short term rehabilitation will vary in duration from 14 days to about 6 weeks. During this time, you may participate in individual and group counseling and therapy while you also start learning more positive life skills and recovery tools that will help you to effectively handle any tempting situation you may run into instead of getting high or drunk.

Typically, short term drug rehab in Galt, IA. will begin with medically managed detox. The program length will mainly depend on the dose and frequency of your substance abuse as well as for how long you have been using.

After you finish the detox step, the short term rehab program will use other methods of treatment depending on your particular requirements and preferences. For example, treatment might use the 12 step method to allow you to take advantage of peer support. These treatments may help hold you accountable as you try to overcome your recovery.

Other treatment methods that might be offered through short term treatment include:

  • Art therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Group counseling
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Individual counseling
  • Nature therapy
  • Medication
  • Yoga
  • Treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety and depression

These treatment methods can be performed in short term drug rehab to help modify your behavior, deter you from drug or alcohol use, and teach you ways to make positive choices so that you don't fall back into substance abuse. You could also discover helpful coping skills and improve your relaxation, so you don't feel you need to resort to drugs.
