What is Short-Term Drug and Alcohol Treatment in Dumont, Iowa

A short term drug rehabilitation facility is best suited for people with a short history of abuse or abuser's that wish to quit abusing drugs or alcohol but are finding it difficult to do so. When you use substances that form dependence/addiction even for a brief period of time you can become addicted. Drug addiction manifests itself when you decide you are going to stop taking the substance but you are struggling because of the physical and/or psychological withdrawal symptoms. If you abuse a habit forming substance such as methamphetamine crack cocaine, heroin, roxycodone, ativan, lunesta or various other addictive drugs for even a brief duration of time you may find it difficult to stop on your own without help. If this is the situation you find yourself in, a short term drug and alcohol rehabilitation program in Dumont can help you.

When you stop using addictive substances abruptly you may experience physical effects known as withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal symptoms can result in both psychological and physical symptoms such as weakness, shakiness, clammy skin, craving, sweating, feeling cold, watery eyes, agitation, excitability, irritability, delirium, restlessness, hallucinations, depression, paranoia, severe anxiety etc... Withdrawal symptoms can bring about compulsions to keep using the substance to ease the symptoms even though you really desire to quit using the substance. If this sounds like you or your loved one's situation, you can find recovery in a short term drug and alcohol rehab center.

The first phase of a short term treatment program for addiction is the detox process. Medical detox is a process that works to manage withdrawal symptoms with medications designed to gently and safely get you off the substance. After detoxification is finished, you will receive therapeutic help and counseling in order continue on with your recovery so that you may live a productive, clean & sober life. A short term rehabilitation program in Dumont, IA is usually only 28 to 30 days although the recovery results can change your life forever.
