Understanding Short Term Drug and Alcohol Treatment in Clarksville, Iowa

Short term drug and alcohol rehab is among the successful forms of addiction rehab. In particular, it may prove appropriate for individuals in Clarksville who are unable to participate in a long-term rehabilitation program.

However, there are many factors you should consider when deciding on the treatment center you are going to attend. The three primary factors are cost, success rates/effectiveness, and program duration.

Considering that no universal treatment method will work for everyone, you will have several options to decide on dependent on your particular needs and preferences. One of these options is short term drug and alcohol treatment.

In many cases, short term rehabilitation will require that you reside within the rehab facility for a couple of weeks or so. These types of programs are somewhat comparable to long-term addiction treatment except they are quite a bit shorter while making sure that you receive the support, attention, and supervision to ensure you do not relapse.

Specifically, short term rehab will range in duration from 2 - 6 weeks. During this time, you can receive individual and group counseling and therapy even as you continue discovering more positive life skills that will help you to deal with any tempting situation you encounter instead of resorting to substance abuse.

Usually, short term rehab in Clarksville, IA. will begin with medical detox. The program length will mainly depend on the severity of your drug or alcohol use as well as for how long you have been using.

After you finish detoxification, the rehab program will perform other types of treatment depending on your specific requirements and preferences. For instance, the program may use the 12 step method to allow you to take advantage of peer support. These treatments will hold you accountable as you try to overcome your recovery.

Other forms of treatment that may be offered through short term rehab include:

  • Art therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Group counseling
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Individual counseling
  • Nature therapy
  • Medication
  • Yoga
  • Treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety and depression

These treatment methods may be performed in short term drug rehab to help shape your way of thinking, discourage you from drug or alcohol use, and show you how to make healthier choices so that you do not fall back into substance abuse. You might also discover helpful coping strategies and help you to reduce anxiety, so you do not feel you have to abuse drugs or alcohol.
