Understanding Short Term Drug and Alcohol Treatment in Callender, Iowa

Short term drug and alcohol rehabilitation is one of the more effective types of addiction treatment. In particular, it may prove beneficial for clients in Callender who cannot go to a long-term rehabilitation program.

Although, there are a few things you should consider while choosing the rehab center you are going to attend. The three primary concerns include cost, success rates/effectiveness, and time.

Whereas no universal treatment method will work for all addicts, you will have a few options to choose from dependent on your particular needs and preferences. One of these options is short term drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

In many instances, short term rehab will require that you live within the treatment facility for a few weeks. These programs are somewhat comparable to long-term rehab programs except they are quite a bit shorter while making sure that you obtain the support, attention, and monitoring that will guarantee you do not relapse.

In particular, short term rehab will vary in length from 14 days to about 6 weeks. During this time, you will receive individual and group counseling even as you start discovering more positive life skills that will empower you to effectively handle any difficult situation you may experience instead of getting high or drunk.

Typically, short term drug rehab in Callender, IA. will start with medical detox. The program duration will primarily depend on the dose and frequency of your substance abuse as well as for how long you have been abusing drugs or alcohol.

After you are done with detox, the short term rehab program will utilize other forms of treatment tailored to your particular needs. For example, the program might use 12-step meetings and group counseling to allow you to take advantage of peer support. These treatment components will hold you accountable as you try to overcome your addiction.

Other forms of treatment that may be available in short term rehab include:

  • Acupuncture
  • Art therapy
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Group counseling
  • Individual counseling
  • Medication
  • Nature therapy
  • Treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety and depression
  • Yoga

These treatment methods may be used to help shape your way of thinking, discourage you from substance abuse, and teach you ways to make positive choices so that you do not fall back into substance abuse. You might also learn new coping methods and improve your relaxation, so you do not feel you need to resort to drugs.
