Long Term Drug Rehab and Mental Health Care in Aurelia, Iowa

Even after completing a long-term drug and alcohol drug and alcohol addiction program in Aurelia, you might still be required to continue with your rehab. However, some people might start wondering why they need to spend so long in such a center.

In particular, they may imagine that it would be more effective to finish short-term rehabilitation before checking into an intensive outpatient facility. Still, even though some addicted individuals have found success through this form of treatment, there are people who would benefit more by spending a number of months in an inpatient facility. These include addicts with weak recovery skills as well as those who may require additional assistance and support to overcome their drug and alcohol addiction.

These addicts include those who:

  • Are utterly unable to structure their lives without abusing their drugs and alcohol of choice
  • Come from unsafe areas and homes that could tempt them to begin using again
  • Have co-occurring psychological conditions
  • Begin using harmful and mind-altering substances from an early age
  • Finished drug addiction rehab but relapse to their previous using patterns

In many cases, long term drug rehab may also be accompanied by extended care and psychological rehab. This is because the mental illnesses often co-occur with drug and alcohol addiction - by leading individuals to abuse drugs or arising from substance abuse - often require long term management and treatment.

Through an Aurelia, IA. long-term center, therefore, you will receive all the care and support you need to overcome both your drug and alcohol abuse and any co-occurring mental health disorder that you are suffering from.

If you choose short-term rehab, you may discover that you particularly isolate yourself, neglect your physical health and wellness, and cease taking the medications that doctors recommended to you. This is why long-term alcohol and drug rehabilitation makes sense for people with co-occurring conditions and who need more intervention.
