Continued Care Following Short Term Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation in Armstrong, Iowa

One of the advantages when you finish short term rehab is that you can afterward ease into long-term treatment. That said, continued care is appropriate for individuals in Armstrong who have either relapsed or are at risk of relapse because they can engage themselves in an additional substance-free setting and continue safely treating their addiction.

After you complete a treatment program, it is highly typical that you will be confronted with the same places where you used to abuse drugs prior to going to rehab. This is because the same triggers - people, situations, and environment - that could prompt you to relapse are still there.

Considering it can be extremely difficult to transition into the "real world" after completing long-term rehab where you were able to focus on treatment and therapy for several months, you may realize that continuing on with short term rehab in Armstrong, IA. may potentially help you sustain your newly acquired sobriety, control, and conceptions against substance abuse.

While in short term drug treatment, therefore, you will learn how to lead a more productive way of life regardless of any difficulties you may run into. The program will also teach you how to effectively manage your thoughts and behaviors - which could prove useful in ensuring that you are able to deal with any troubles you encounter.

Other components of addiction treatment and continued care include:

  • How to create a more favorable environment at home and work
  • How to recognize triggers and avoid them
  • How to surround yourself with support through community groups, outpatient treatment, and stays at sober living facilities

Ultimately, short term drug and alcohol rehabilitation will have a wide range of treatment components that will help you use new recovery skills in your life and keep on sticking to the new principles you learned once you leave the rehab facility.
