Continued Care Following Short Term Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation in Aredale, Iowa

One of the advantages when you complete short term drug treatment is that you can later transition into long-term treatment. As such, continued care is suggested for recovering individuals in Aredale who have either relapsed or are at risk of relapse because they can involve themselves in another substance-free setting and continue effectively working on their addiction.

After you finish and leave a treatment program, it is very likely that you will encounter the same places where you previously used substances prior to going to treatment. This is because the same triggers - people, situations, and environment - that can cause you to start using again are still there.

Since it can be extremely challenging to transition into the "real world" after completing long-term rehab where you were able to concentrate on healing and therapy for a few months, you might find that continuing on with short term drug rehab in Aredale, IA. can potentially help you sustain your newly acquired abstinence, resolve, and attitude against substance abuse and addiction.

While in short term treatment, therefore, you will discover how to lead a more productive lifestyle in spite of any difficulties you might encounter. The program will also help you to learn to think and act differently - which could be very helpful in making sure that you are able to handle any stressful situation you encounter.

Other components of addiction rehabilitation and continued care include:

  • How to recognize triggers and avoid them
  • How to surround yourself with support through community groups, outpatient treatment, and stays at sober living facilities
  • How to create a more favorable environment at home and work

Ultimately, short term drug and alcohol rehab will typically have a wide array of treatment components that will help you apply new abilities in your life and keep on sticking to the new principles you learned once you leave the rehabilitation program.
