List of Short Term Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Programs In Wilburn, Arkansas

What is Short-Term Drug Treatment in Wilburn, Arkansas

A short term drug treatment program is best suited for short term substance users or abuser's that wish to stop abusing drugs or alcohol but are having some difficulty doing so. When you use alcohol or drugs that are addicting even for a brief period of time you can get addicted. Drug dependence manifests itself when you decide you are going to stop using the substance but you are unable to because of the physical and/or psychological withdrawal symptoms. If you use an addictive substance such as methamphetamine cocaine, heroin, lortab, dilaudid, morphine or various other addictive drugs for even a brief duration of time you could have a hard time stopping on your own without help. If this is the case, a short term drug and alcohol treatment program in Wilburn can help you.

When you stop using addictive drugs suddenly you may experience physical effects known as withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal symptoms will result in both physical and psychological symptoms such as weakness, shakiness, clammy skin, craving, sweating, feeling cold, watery eyes, agitation, excitability, irritability, delirium, restlessness, hallucinations, depression, severe anxiety, paranoia and more. Withdrawal symptoms can bring about compulsions to keep using the drug to relieve the symptoms despite your intent to quit taking the drug. If this sounds like you or your loved one's situation, you can benefit from the assistance of a short term drug and alcohol treatment center.

The very first phase of a short term rehabilitation center for addiction is detoxification. Medical detox is a process that works to manage withdrawal symptoms with medications made to safely and comfortably wean you off the substance. After detoxification is finished, you will be given psychological support and education to help you maintain your recovery so that you may live a substance free life. A short term addiction program in Wilburn, AR is usually only 28 to 30 days but the end results can last a lifetime.

Recovery Centers of Arkansas has a rich history with strong foundations in the recovery community of central Arkansas. The first Alcoholics Anonymous group in Arkansas and the oldest AA group west of the Mississippi River initially incorporated in the 1950's, as the Twenty-Four Hour Club and later as Addiction Treatment Centers, for the purpose of purchasing a facility in Little Rock to offer treatment for alcohol abuse. A need was shortly thereafter identified to have a similar facility on the north side of the river. Twelve people, incorporating as Riverbend Recovery Centers, donated $100 each for a down payment on a building and property located at the current site in North Little Rock. Operating under separate articles of incorporation, the two facilities each expanded, offering treatment to both men and women and to include substance abuse treatment in general rather than just alcohol addiction.
