Long Term Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation and Mental Health Care in Plumerville, Arkansas

Even after completing a long-term drug drug addiction program in Plumerville, you may still be required to continue with your treatment. However, some people may start wondering why they need to spend such an extensive period of time in such a facility.

For example they may imagine that it would be more effective to complete short-term treatment before enrolling in an intensive outpatient facility. Still, even though some addicts have found sobriety through this type of rehabilitation, there are people who would benefit more by spending a number of months in an inpatient facility. These include addicts with less robust recovery skills as well as those who may require additional help and support to conquer their drug addiction.

These addicts include those who:

  • Are utterly unable to function in their lives without abusing their drugs of choice
  • Come from unsafe neighborhoods and homes that could tempt them to begin using again
  • Have co-occurring psychological disorders
  • Start using intoxicating and mind-altering substances from a young age
  • Completed addiction rehab but relapse to their previous using habits

In many cases, long term drug rehab may also be accompanied by extended care and psychological rehabilitation. This is because the mental illnesses tend to co-occur with addiction - by leading people to abuse drugs and alcohol or arising from drug and alcohol abuse - often need long term management and treatment.

Through a Plumerville, AR. long-term program, therefore, you will get all the care and support you need to conquer both your alcohol and drug abuse and any co-occurring psychological condition that you are suffering from.

If you choose short-term rehabilitation, you might find that you particularly isolate yourself, neglect your health and wellness, and stop taking the medications that physicians recommended to you. This is why long-term alcohol and drug treatment makes sense for people with co-occurring disorders and who require more intervention.

Recovery Centers of Arkansas has a rich history with strong foundations in the recovery community of central Arkansas. The first Alcoholics Anonymous group in Arkansas and the oldest AA group west of the Mississippi River initially incorporated in the 1950's, as the Twenty-Four Hour Club and later as Addiction Treatment Centers, for the purpose of purchasing a facility in Little Rock to offer treatment for alcohol abuse. A need was shortly thereafter identified to have a similar facility on the north side of the river. Twelve people, incorporating as Riverbend Recovery Centers, donated $100 each for a down payment on a building and property located at the current site in North Little Rock. Operating under separate articles of incorporation, the two facilities each expanded, offering treatment to both men and women and to include substance abuse treatment in general rather than just alcohol addiction.
