Long Term Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation and Psychological Care in Pleasant Plains, Arkansas

Upon completion of a long-term alcohol and drug drug and alcohol addiction program in Pleasant Plains, you may still be required to continue with your rehab. However, some people might start wondering why they would be required to spend such an extensive period of time in such a program.

In particular, they may assume that it would be more effective to finish short-term rehabilitation before enrolling in an intensive outpatient program. Still, even though some addicts have found success through this form of rehabilitation, there are people who would gain more by spending a number of months in an inpatient program. These include addicted individuals with less robust recovery skills as well as those who might need additional help and support to overcome their addiction.

These addicts include those who:

  • Are utterly unable to structure their lives without abusing their drugs of choice
  • Come from unsafe neighborhoods and homes that could tempt them to start using again
  • Have co-occurring psychological disorders
  • Begin using harmful and mind-altering substances from a young age
  • Finished drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation but relapse to their old using patterns

In many instances, long term drug and alcohol treatment may also be accompanied by extended care and psychological rehab. This is because the mental illnesses tend to co-occur with drug addiction - by leading people to abuse alcohol and drugs or arising from alcohol and drug abuse - often need long term management and rehab.

Through a Pleasant Plains, AR. long-term program, therefore, you will get all the care and support you need to overcome both your drug and alcohol abuse and any co-occurring psychological condition that you are struggling with.

If you choose short-term rehabilitation, you might find that you particularly isolate yourself, neglect your health and wellness, and cease taking the medications that physicians recommended to you. This is why long-term alcohol and drug rehab makes sense for individuals with co-occurring disorders and who need more intervention.

Recovery Centers of Arkansas has a rich history with strong foundations in the recovery community of central Arkansas. The first Alcoholics Anonymous group in Arkansas and the oldest AA group west of the Mississippi River initially incorporated in the 1950's, as the Twenty-Four Hour Club and later as Addiction Treatment Centers, for the purpose of purchasing a facility in Little Rock to offer treatment for alcohol abuse. A need was shortly thereafter identified to have a similar facility on the north side of the river. Twelve people, incorporating as Riverbend Recovery Centers, donated $100 each for a down payment on a building and property located at the current site in North Little Rock.
