Understanding Short Term Drug and Alcohol Treatment in Hickory Plains, Arkansas

Short term drug rehabilitation is among the successful types of substance abuse rehab. That is, it might be helpful for individuals in Hickory Plains who cannot attend a long-term rehab program.

Although, there are numerous things you should look into while choosing the rehab center you are thinking about attending. The three main factors are cost, success rates/effectiveness, and program duration.

Because no universal treatment plan will work for everyone, you will have several treatment options to pick from depending on your particular needs and preferences. Among these options is short term drug and alcohol rehab.

In many instances, short term rehabilitation will require that you live within the treatment center for a couple of weeks or so. These types of programs are somewhat comparable to long-term rehab programs except they last quite a bit shorter in duration while ensuring that you obtain the attention, support, and monitoring that will guarantee you stay sober.

In particular, short term treatment will range in length from 14 days to about 6 weeks. During this time, you can receive individual and group therapy and counseling while you also continue learning more positive life skills and recovery tools that will allow you to effectively handle any tempting situation you may experience instead of reaching for drugs or alcohol.

In most cases, short term addiction treatment in Hickory Plains, AR. will start with detoxification. The length of this program will mainly depend on the severity of your drug or alcohol use as well as for how long you have been using.

After you finish detox, the short term rehab program will use other forms of treatment tailored to your particular requirements and preferences. For example, the program might use 12-step meetings and group counseling to allow you to receive benefits from peer support. These treatments will hold you accountable as you try to overcome your recovery.

Other forms of treatment that might be available in short term rehab include:

  • Art therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Group counseling
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Individual counseling
  • Nature therapy
  • Medication
  • Yoga
  • Treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety and depression

All these treatment methods may be provided in short term drug rehab to help modify your behavior, deter you from continued drug use, and teach you how to make healthier choices so that you do not fall back into substance abuse. You could also discover new coping skills and improve your relaxation, so you don't feel you have to abuse drugs or alcohol.

The first Alcoholics Anonymous group in Arkansas and the oldest AA group west of the Mississippi River initially incorporated in the 1950's, as the Twenty-Four Hour Club and later as Addiction Treatment Centers, for the purpose of purchasing a facility in Little Rock to offer treatment for alcohol abuse. A need was shortly thereafter identified to have a similar facility on the north side of the river. Twelve people, incorporating as Riverbend Recovery Centers, donated $100 each for a down payment on a building and property located at the current site in North Little Rock.
