At the Illinois Youth Center/Joliet, I performed clinical counseling in a maximum-security setting to both gang-related youths and their families. In addition, I provided counseling services for Arizona State Prison and later, for New Arizona Family, Inc. in Phoenix as a behavioral health professional in the role of Board Certified and State Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC). Clinical services clientele there included probationers and parolees mandated to court ordered treatment, in addition to general mental health clients.
