Since 1999 CODA has collaborated with Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU), Dartmouth College, University of Pittsburgh, University of Washington, Virginia Commonwealth University, Kaiser Permanente, and other institutions on research funded by National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) and other foundations and agencies. CODA was one of the original members of the Robert Wood Johnson grant for improvement of clinical services through the Network for Improvement of Addiction Treatment (NIATx). In 2007, the CODA administration created a separate research division within its organization believing that treatment driven by real time data is critical to optimal patient outcomes. CODA Researchis one of three recipients of the SAMHSA 2012 Science and Service Award.
