Whereas drug addiction and alcoholism are habitual and cyclic conditions, you may find out that the most effective way to recover is to obtain professional treatment and intervention from a long term alcohol and drug rehab in Heber Springs.

Today, alcohol and drug rehab centers have numerous different treatment alternatives for people who need treatment - and these vary in duration and setting based on the specific requirements and desires of the patients.

Even though you will find some relief by enrolling into short-term rehabilitation lasting for 28 to 30 days, in many instances, you will discover that long-term rehab is the better choice.

Understanding Long-Term Addiction Treatment

Long term drug and alcohol treatment will deliver a safe and supportive setting where you can focus on conquering your addiction. While at the rehab you will be isolated from your friends, home, and any other people, places, and things that could possibly cause you to start using drugs and drinking alcohol again.

During your time in treatment, you will also discover how to focus on recovery by learning the life skills and tools that will support your sobriety long after you graduate the rehab program.

Although you may be worried about being away from home for so long, consider the many research findings that promote long-term drug and alcohol treatment and you will see that the time you spend in one of these programs will be well worth the effort.

How Long-Term Rehabilitation Works

In most instances, long-term addiction rehab is intended to help you recover from substance abuse by efficiently cleansing your body and mind of all the toxic substances you have been using.

These rehab programs will also help by preparing you on how to handle any cravings and triggers that could prompt you to relapse. Therefore, you might discover that this form of rehabilitation will effectively enable you to develop the techniques that will be beneficial when you must to maintain your sobriety when confronted by tempting circumstances.

Today, there are also high end, private rehabilitation programs that provide resort-like features, environments, and services. Choosing such a lavish program could potentially make it easier for you to battle your addiction.

Yet, if you don't have the resources to afford a program such as this, then don't worry. Even a regular drug treatment facility in Heber Springs, AR. can be successful if you stay in the program long enough until you are entirely in charge of your life and no longer addicted to drugs.

Additionally, most long-term treatment facilities will deliver round the clock support, supervision, and services by a group of highly skilled, knowledgeable, and certified addiction experts. Therefore, you can obtain all the help you need as you recover from substance abuse.

These facilities also work somewhat like residential halfway houses - except that you will be supervised more closely to make sure that you don't use drugs or alcohol and you undergo more intensive treatment and therapy.

Although long-term rehab facilities vary from hospital settings to residential facilities, they will all give you a safe and conducive environment where you can focus on your recovery.

Long-term programs have also been advancing and some will provide different methods of substance abuse recovery. For instance, you may be able to select a long term drug treatment facility that also utilizes holistic methods of substance abuse rehabilitation, faith-based rehabilitation, and many others.

The programs might also provide experiential treatment therapies, mediation, nutritional services, exercise, and yoga or other eastern meditative disciplines to try and promote your recovery while making sure that you understand how to control your cravings and overcome any triggers you may have to start abusing drugs again. These treatment services will further allow you to continue growing emotionally, spiritually, mentally, and physically - often leading to better outcomes.

Additionally, the facility will provide you with other tools to help you to stay clean and sober after the rehab is complete. For instance, they might help you to gain new career skills, better learn how to manage your money and deal with your finances, teach you how to preform well at job interviews, and help you to develop better habits regarding cleanliness, hygiene and physical appearance.

Since addiction affects many different facets of your life, it is essential that you address every factor related to your substance abuse - beyond just the physical aspect of addiction.

While ensuring that addiction no longer has a hold over your life, therefore, long-term addiction treatment programs in Heber Springs, Arkansas also work to treat the mental and psychological components of addiction. This is why these programs provide diverse methods of therapy and counseling.

That said, the duration of the rehab program will be different from one patient to the next depending on several factors. These factors include the severity and longevity of your addiction, the kinds of drugs you abused, as well as whether or not you may have a co-occurring mental health disorder arising from or exacerbated by your drug addiction.

Benefits of Long-Term Rehab

Recent research studies have shown that addicts who stay longer in a treatment facility tend to result in higher rates of success. Thus, the longer you stay and participate in the treatment program, the smoother it will be for you to work on recovery.

Long term substance abuse rehab in Heber Springs can also offer you the opportunities to discover how to work on your recovery and handle any triggers that you might encounter in your fight against addiction.

Initially, the treatment program will provide physical detoxification. By so doing, it will clean out your mind and body of all intoxicating substances (as well as the remaining toxins) that you were abusing.

After that, you will spend the rest of the time in therapy handling all the causes underlying your addiction. To this end, this type of rehab may ensure that you are in a good position to find out all the people, places, and things that influenced you to abusing drugs in the first place. During the process, long-term rehabilitation can teach you other life skills and coping skills that you can employ to prevent yourself from relapsing.

As a whole, long-term addiction rehab is the most effective method of treatment especially if you have a long-standing severe addiction and need more comprehensive rehabilitation to overcome your condition.

Recovery Centers of Arkansas has a rich history with strong foundations in the recovery community of central Arkansas. The first Alcoholics Anonymous group in Arkansas and the oldest AA group west of the Mississippi River initially incorporated in the 1950's, as the Twenty-Four Hour Club and later as Addiction Treatment Centers, for the purpose of purchasing a facility in Little Rock to offer treatment for alcohol abuse. A need was shortly thereafter identified to have a similar facility on the north side of the river. Twelve people, incorporating as Riverbend Recovery Centers, donated $100 each for a down payment on a building and property located at the current site in North Little Rock. Operating under separate articles of incorporation, the two facilities each expanded, offering treatment to both men and women and to include substance abuse treatment in general rather than just alcohol addiction.
