Continued Care Following Short Term Drug Rehabilitation in Garner, Iowa

One of the advantages when you complete short term drug rehab is that you can later transition into long-term treatment. That said, continued care is ideal for people in Garner who have relapsed or are at risk of relapse because they can surround themselves in an additional substance-free treatment setting and continue effectively battling their addiction.

After you finish and leave a rehabilitation program, it is very likely that you will come across the same places where you previously used substances prior to going to rehab. This is because the same triggers - people, places, and things - that can cause you to start using again are still there.

Considering it can be particularly difficult to transition into the "real world" after leaving long-term rehabilitation where you were able to focus on healing and therapy for a few months, you may feel that going to short term drug rehab in Garner, IA. could potentially help you hold on to your newly found abstinence, control, and attitude against substance abuse and addiction.

Throughout short term rehab, therefore, you will learn how to lead a more productive lifestyle regardless of any challenging situations you may encounter. The facility will also teach you how to effectively manage your thoughts and behaviors - which could be very helpful in ensuring that you are able to deal with any stress you face.

Other components of substance abuse rehabilitation and continued care include:

  • How to recognize triggers and avoid them
  • How to surround yourself with support through community groups, outpatient treatment, and stays at sober living facilities
  • How to create a more favorable environment at home and work

Last but not least, short term drug and alcohol treatment will have a wide range of rehab methods that can help you apply new recovery skills in your life and keep on sticking to the new philosophies and morals you have learned once you leave the rehabilitation facility.
