List of Long Term Alcohol and Drug Treatment Facilities In Elbert, West Virginia

Do I Need Long Term Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation in Elbert, West Virginia?

What is an addictive or psychoactive drug? An addictive or psychoactive drug is a substance such as heroin, crack, meth, vicodin, tramadol, amytal etc... that works predominantly upon the central nervous system where it alters brain activity, which results in temporary changes in perception, mood, alertness and behavior. Addictive drugs also change the personalities of the individuals that use them and these changes in personality and behavior are most often extremely negative and undesirable. When a person begins using a psychoactive substance they may experience an artificial feeling of pleasure caused by the substance. When repeated daily for a prolonged period of time the person will develop an addiction to the drug. Addiction can cause a horrific affliction in a persons life. No one intends to produce this suffering, known as addiction, on themselves, rather the person was simply unaware of the negative consequences where they could only notice the euphoria it seemed to produce at first and they thought it would always be like that.

Luckily there are solutions for you or your loved one in Elbert, West Virginia suffering with substance abuse problems. A long term addiction requires a long term inpatient recovery program. Addiction is an issue that can be handled but it's not handled overnight. The most successful approach to rehabilitate drug and alcohol addiction today is long term residential treatment. Just as no one intends to become addicted to drugs, no one has to continue to be addicted if they get the help that they need to correct the issue.

They opened the first facility, our Men's Division, in 1968. In 1970, a separate facility for women was opened. In 1986, our services were again expanded to serve drug dependent clients.
