What is Short-Term Treatment in Roaring Gap, North Carolina

A short term drug and alcohol rehab facility is is designed for short term substance users or abuser's that desire to quit using but are finding it difficult to do so. When you use substances that are addicting even for a brief period of time you can become dependent. Drug and alcohol addiction manifests itself when you decide you are going to stop using the substance but you are unable to due to psychological and/or physical withdrawal symptoms. If you abuse a habit forming drug such as methamphetamine crack, heroin, oxycontin, ritalin, hydrocodone or various other potentially addictive drugs for even a brief amount of time you could have a hard time stopping on your own. If this is the case, a short term drug and alcohol rehab program in Roaring Gap can help you.

When you discontinue addictive drugs cold turkey you may develop physical effects known as withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal symptoms will result in both psychological and physical discomforts such as weakness, shakiness, craving, clammy skin, feeling cold, sweating, agitation, crying, irritability, excitability, restlessness, delirium, hallucinations, depression, paranoia, severe anxiety and more. Withdrawal symptoms can bring about compulsions to keep using the drug to alleviate the symptoms even though you really desire to stop taking the substance. If this sounds like you or your loved one's situation, you can benefit from the assistance of a short term drug and alcohol rehab program.

The initial phase of a short term rehab program for addiction is detoxification. Medical detoxification is a process that works to manage withdrawal symptoms with medications made to safely and comfortably get you off the drug. After detoxification is complete, you will be given therapeutic assistance and education to help you strengthen your recovery so that you may live a substance free life. A short term addiction treatment program in Roaring Gap, NC is usually only 28 to 30 days although the benefits can last a lifetime.
