Understanding Short Term Drug and Alcohol Treatment in Alpha, Minnesota

Short term drug and alcohol treatment is one of the more successful types of addiction rehab. In particular, it may prove beneficial for individuals in Alpha who cannot attend a long-term rehab program.

However, there are many things you should look into when selecting the rehab center you are going to attend. The three main concerns are effectiveness/success rates, cost, and time.

Because no universal treatment plan will work for everyone, you will have several treatment options to decide on depending on your specific needs and desires. Among these options is short term drug and alcohol rehab.

In most cases, short term rehabilitation will require that you reside within the recovery center for a few weeks. These programs are somewhat comparable to long-term treatment programs except they are much shorter while making sure that you obtain the support, attention, and supervision to make sure you do not relapse.

Specifically, short term treatment will vary in duration from 2 - 6 weeks. During this time, you can benefit from individual and group therapy and counseling while you also continue discovering more positive life skills that will help you to deal with any tempting situation you may run into as opposed to resorting to substance abuse.

In most cases, short term drug rehab in Alpha, MN. will begin with medical detox. The program length will mainly depend on the dose and frequency of your substance abuse as well as the length of time you have been using.

After you finish detoxification, the short term rehab facility will perform other forms of treatment depending on your individual needs and requirements. For instance, treatment may use the 12 step method to allow you to take advantage of peer support. These treatments may help hold you accountable as you try to overcome your recovery.

Other treatment methods that may be offered through short term rehabilitation include:

  • Acupuncture
  • Art therapy
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Group counseling
  • Individual counseling
  • Medication
  • Nature therapy
  • Treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety and depression
  • Yoga

These treatment methods may be offered in short term drug rehab to help shape your way of thinking, deter you from drug use, and teach you how to make healthier choices so that you don't relapse. You could also discover new coping strategies and improve your relaxation, so you don't feel you need to abuse drugs or alcohol.
