Shoemaker Center has long been dedicated to helping individuals recovery after a period of alcohol and drug addiction. It has been doing this within West Friendship, Maryland and in the surrounding areas for quite some time. Today, Shoemaker Center provides services like dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive/behavior therapy, vocational rehabilitation services, contingency management/motivational incentive, group therapy, relapse prevention - which are all representative of their rehabilitation and treatment philosophies. Shoemaker Center believes that clients need specially tailored treatment programs to achieve recovery. This is why it provides several programs, like legal advocacy, clients with HIV/AIDS, child care for clients children, suicide prevention services, co-occurring mental and substance abuse disorders, programs for the hearing impaired - among other services listed in the following sections.
