List of Alcohol and Drug Detoxification Facilities In Santa Fe Springs, California

What Is Detox in Santa Fe Springs, California?

Detox, also known as detoxification, is typically the first treatment you need to undertake when you check into an inpatient or an outpatient drug addiction treatment center. However, it is also offered in hospitals and other settings - particularly when the withdrawal symptoms you display are too severe for you to bear.

In a lot of cases, the purpose of medically managed detoxification is to prevent any fatal or uncomfortable situations that will arise when you suddenly stop using your preferred intoxicating and mind-altering substances or if you lower the dosage you are used to taking.

As such, detoxification facilities in Santa Fe Springs offer physiological healing - which is usually after being addicted to alcohol and/or drugs for a long time. It usually starts with a rehab process before the full work of detox can begin.

NIDA (the National Institute on Drug Abuse) reports that after the center has stabilized you, detox will transition to intensive support and monitoring to ensure that all your bodily functions are at desirable levels as your system continues purging the substances you had been taking. The detox facility will also try to manage the typically harsh and uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms that may arise the process.

Understanding Detoxification Treatment

However, you need to remember that you should not consider detoxification as the complete rehab for drug and alcohol abuse and addiction - irrespective of your drug history.

In fact, drug addiction is both physiological and psychological. As such, you need to consider psychotherapeutic rehabilitation after the detoxification process to address every issue stemming from drug cravings and from the effects these drugs made to your brain.

Although detoxification in Santa Fe Springs, CA. could potentially help you stop consuming alcohol and using drugs immediately, you will still need follow-up therapy and support. This will significantly lower your risk of relapse.

Overall, the importance of detoxification cannot be overstated. This is why almost every drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation center usually begins with detox before following it up with other therapeutic treatment options.
