Continued Care Following Short Term Drug Treatment in Monterey Park, California

One of the advantages when you complete short term rehabilitation is that you can thereafter ease into long-term rehab. Therefore, continued care works perfectly for individuals in Monterey Park who have relapsed or are at risk of relapse because they can involve themselves in another drug-free setting and continue effectively working on their addiction.

After you finish and leave a rehab program, it is highly possible that you will be confronted with the same places where you used to abuse drugs or alcohol before you went for treatment. This is because the same triggers - people, situations, and environment - that could influence you to start using again are still there.

Considering it can be extremely difficult to shift back into the "real world" after completing long-term rehabilitation where you were able to focus on healing and therapy for a few months, you might feel that attending short term rehab in Monterey Park, CA. could potentially help you sustain your newly found abstinence, resolve, and attitude against substance abuse and addiction.

While in short term treatment, therefore, you will discover how to command a more positive and healthy lifestyle regardless of any challenging situations you might experience. The program will also teach you how to effectively manage your thoughts and behaviors - which could prove useful in making sure that you are able to deal with any troubles you are confronted with.

Other components of substance abuse treatment and continued care include:

  • How to recognize triggers and avoid them
  • How to surround yourself with support through community groups, outpatient treatment, and stays at sober living facilities
  • How to create a more favorable environment at home and work

Finally, short term drug and alcohol rehabilitation will have a wide array of treatment components that can help you apply new skills in your life and keep on sticking to the new principles you learned once you leave the treatment program.
