List of Alcohol and Drug Detoxification Facilities In Bell Gardens, California

What Is Detoxification in Bell Gardens, California?

Detox, also known as detoxification, is typically the initial action you will undergo when you check into an inpatient or an outpatient addiction treatment center. However, it is also offered in hospitals and other settings - especially if the withdrawal symptoms displayed are too severe for you to bear.

In a lot of cases, the purpose of medically managed detoxification is to avoid any fatal or unpleasant situations that will arise when you suddenly stop abusing your preferred drug of choice or if you reduce the dosage you are used to taking.

As such, detox programs in Bell Gardens offer physical healing - typically after being addicted to alcohol and/or drugs for a long time. It usually starts with a treatment process before the full process of detoxification can begin.

NIDA (the National Institute on Drug Abuse) states that after the program has stabilized you, detox will transition to intensive assistance and oversight to ensure that all your bodily processes are at desirable levels as your system continues getting rid of the substances you consumed. The detox center will also try to manage the usually unpleasant and uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms that might arise the process.

Understanding Detox Treatment

However, keep in mind that you should not consider detox as the complete treatment for drug and alcohol abuse and addiction - irrespective of the severity of your addiction.

In fact, drug and alcohol addiction is both physical and psychological. As such, you should go for psychotherapeutic treatment after the detox process to deal with every problem stemming from drug cravings and from the changes these drugs made to your brain.

Although detoxification in Bell Gardens, CA. can ideally help you stop consuming alcohol and using drugs immediately, most need follow-up therapy and support. Doing so will significantly lower your risk of relapse.

Overall, the importance of detox cannot be overemphasized. This is why almost every drug and alcohol addiction rehab program usually starts with detoxification before transitioning to other therapeutic rehabilitation services.
