List of Long Term Substance Abuse Treatment Facilities In Higden, Arkansas

Do I Need Long Term Drug and Alcohol Treatment in Higden, Arkansas?

What is an addictive or psychoactive drug? An addictive or psychoactive drug is a drug such as heroin, cocaine, crystal meth, percocet, ambien, morphine etc... that acts predominantly upon the central nervous system where it changes brain activity, resulting in temporary changes in awareness, feeling, alertness and demeanor. Addictive substances also alter the personalities of the people that use them and these changes in personality and behavior are most often extremely negative and troublesome. When a person begins using an addictive drug they typically feel a false sense of pleasure caused by the drug. When used regularly for an extended period of time the individual will acquire an addiction to the substance. Addiction will usually be a tremendous nightmare in one's life. Nobody intends to create this nightmare, known as addiction, on themselves, rather the person was simply unaware of the long term consequences and they could only identify the euphoria it appeared to produce in the beginning and they thought it would always be like that.

Fortunately there are solutions for those in Higden, Arkansas suffering with alcoholism or drug addiction. A long term addiction requires a long term inpatient recovery program. Addiction is a problem that can be resolved but it's not resolved overnight. The most successful approach to rehabilitate drug abuse and addiction today is long term residential rehab. Just as no one intends to become addicted to substances, no one has to continue to be addicted if they receive the help that they need to fix the issue.

Getting your loved one the treatment that they need can save their life and recover peace and serenity in the household.

  • The individual will obtain 24 hour supervision including medically monitored services through the withdrawal process.
  • The person will receive the counseling and support that is needed to repair their life.
  • The individual will learn how to repair the damage that they have done to themselves and their loved ones.

Recovery Centers of Arkansas has a rich history with strong foundations in the recovery community of central Arkansas. The first Alcoholics Anonymous group in Arkansas and the oldest AA group west of the Mississippi River initially incorporated in the 1950's, as the Twenty-Four Hour Club and later as Addiction Treatment Centers, for the purpose of purchasing a facility in Little Rock to offer treatment for alcohol abuse. A need was shortly thereafter identified to have a similar facility on the north side of the river. Twelve people, incorporating as Riverbend Recovery Centers, donated $100 each for a down payment on a building and property located at the current site in North Little Rock. Operating under separate articles of incorporation, the two facilities each expanded, offering treatment to both men and women and to include substance abuse treatment in general rather than just alcohol addiction.
