List of Long Term Drug and Alcohol Treatment Facilities In Austin, Arkansas

Long Term Drug Rehab and Psychological Care in Austin, Arkansas

Even after completing a long-term alcohol and drug addiction program in Austin, you may still be required to continue with your rehabilitation. However, some individuals may begin wondering why they would be required to spend such an extensive period of time in such a facility.

For example they may imagine that it would be more useful to finish short-term rehabilitation before enrolling in an intensive outpatient program. Still, even though some addicts have found success through this form of rehab, there are individuals who would benefit more by spending several months in an inpatient facility. These include addicted individuals with less robust recovery skills as well as those who might need extra help and support to overcome their drug addiction.

These addicted individuals include those who:

  • Are utterly unable to function in their lives without abusing their drugs and alcohol of choice
  • Come from unsafe areas and homes that could tempt them to start using again
  • Have co-occurring mental health conditions
  • Start using intoxicating and mind-altering substances from a young age
  • Finished drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation but relapse to their previous using patterns

In many cases, long term drug and alcohol rehabilitation might also be accompanied by extended care and psychological rehabilitation. This is because the mental illnesses tend to co-occur with drug addiction - by leading individuals to abuse drugs and alcohol or arising from alcohol and drug abuse - often require long term management and treatment.

Through an Austin, AR. long-term program, therefore, you will get all the care and help you need to overcome both your substance abuse and any co-occurring psychological condition that you are struggling with.

If you choose short-term rehabilitation, you may find that you increasingly isolate yourself, neglect your physical health and wellness, and cease taking the medications that doctors recommended to you. This is why long-term drug and alcohol rehab makes sense for people with co-occurring conditions and who need more intensive care.

Recovery Centers of Arkansas has a rich history with strong foundations in the recovery community of central Arkansas. The first Alcoholics Anonymous group in Arkansas and the oldest AA group west of the Mississippi River initially incorporated in the 1950's, as the Twenty-Four Hour Club and later as Addiction Treatment Centers, for the purpose of purchasing a facility in Little Rock to offer treatment for alcohol abuse. A need was shortly thereafter identified to have a similar facility on the north side of the river. Twelve people, incorporating as Riverbend Recovery Centers, donated $100 each for a down payment on a building and property located at the current site in North Little Rock. Operating under separate articles of incorporation, the two facilities each expanded, offering treatment to both men and women and to include substance abuse treatment in general rather than just alcohol addiction.
