Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation offers counseling and psychiatric services to adults who are experiencing emotional or psychiatric distress, with emphasis directed to individuals with serious mental illnesses and significant emotional disorders. - Their clinicians will provide a variety of evidenced based treatments as we strive to support our patients' recovery in the community. - These and other programs are available to patients depending on their individual needs and problems. - When you first come to the center, your counselor will discuss with you how the team can work with you to improve your situation. If there are other resources or providers that might better meet your needs, we will help you make contact with them. - Modified dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) is an evidenced based therapy type that is designed to aid people who are suffering from mood disorders. DBT is also helpful among clients who need to change their behavioral patterns, particularly those that are not helpful, such as self-harm or suicidal ideation. - Patients in this program learn how to identify their emotional triggers and develop skills to utilize in coping and decreasing their harmful behaviors.
