Spring River Mental Health & Wellness, Inc. is a not-for-profit community mental health center. We provide behavioral health and fitness services in Cherokee County, Kansas. SRMHW has a long and successful history of community mental health care and substance abuse service delivery to Cherokee County, Kansas. Driven by a commitment to serving unmet behavioral healthcare needs of the area, SRMHW has collaborated with both public and private organizations to find effective solutions to fill the gaps that exist in this rural, southeastern corner of the state. SRMHW has provided services since 1981; initially as Cherokee County Mental Health Center and then in 1987 as Family Life Center and as of January 2011 as Spring River Mental Health and Wellness. We currently provide services to over 2000 individuals every year. To improve the overall health status of Cherokee County residents, we have two behavioral health outpatient office locations with well trained professionals and a wellness/fitness center. The fitness center has a full size gymnasium, an exercise room, health education classrooms, free weights and all the fitness equipment you need to reach your fitness goals and improve your overall health - all open to the public. We strive to partner and collaborate with other agencies to assist them in meeting their goals for those they serve because working together we are more effective than working separately.
