While every counseling experience is unique, Pittsburgh Pastoral Institute seeks to provide an empathetic relationship, in which clients can safely and freely discuss their problems and concerns in a faith-friendly context. The main goal is for clients and therapists to work together to resolve concerns as in-depth as possible while secondarily seeking to promote personal growth, self-awareness, and meaningful relationships with those whom are significant in the client's life. This is a 'client-centered' process, in which the client determines the particular areas of discussion and exploration in a given session. It also is, as previously mentioned, a faith-friendly process, in which spiritual and religious concerns can be discussed according to a client's preference. All persons, from all walks of life, can benefit from our services and are accepted without discrimination based on age, color, ethnic origin, gender, disability, race, religious affiliation, or sexual orientation.
