The National Council On Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Greater Detroit Area (NCADD-GDA) has over 68 years of experience serving people impacted by substance abuse and is currently involved in comprehensive programming that spans the entire treatment continuum (Prevention, Assessment, Outpatient, intensive Outpatient, and Recovery Services). NCADD-GDA is one of almost 100 affiliates across the country that embodies the axiom that recovery is possible. This agency is also affiliated with the National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACOA), a research and advocacy organization. NCADD receives most of its funding from federal substance abuse block grants, Healthy Michigan (Affordable Care Act) and Medicaid allotments through the Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority (DWMHA). NCADD-GDA also receives funding from United Way of southeastern Michigan, as well as, through the generosity of its constituents.
