Substance abuse is a serious problem in Florida. Children are exposed to drugs from many different sources - through their friends, adults, the media and a host of other ways - causing broken homes, broken lives and broken dreams. Our goal is to reach out to these youngsters and provide effective programs and services that will foster the skills necessary so they can become responsible, productive members of their community. Substance abuse does not discriminate and it can happen to any child, when we least expect it, and at alarming young ages. At DATA, we are changing lives every day. DATA Programs: Outpatient - Individuals and families participating in outpatient services can expect treatment based on their needs. The outpatient program utilizes multiple evidence-based treatment models including Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Residential - Drug Abuse Treatment Association provides residential services in both Circuit 15 (Walter D. Kelly Center) and Circuit 19 (Norman C. Hayslip Center). These treatment services are offered to adolescents only. Prevention - Prevention programs are provided to youth at selected middle and high schools in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties. Schools are selected based on need and willingness of the administration to participate/embrace the program. Treatment Accountability for Safer Communities - Treatment Accountability for Safer Communities (TASC) incorporates the philosophies of both the juvenile justice and treatment systems into its operating principles, and does so by capitalizing on the leverage of the juvenile justice system to achieve maximum benefits from treatment. School Based Intervention - School-Based Intervention services focus on reducing risk factors generally associated with the progression of substance use and mental health problems. Screening and assessment services occur to determine whether the intervention program is an appropriate placement for the client. In Home/Onsite Services - In Home/Onsite Services (IHOS) focus on reducing risk factors generally associated with the progression of substance use and mental health problems.
